We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Officer to join our team. This role is vital in planning and delivering a project funded by Npower, with a strong focus on achieving the best outcomes for our service users.

About the Role
As a Project Officer, you will manage critical tasks that contribute to the success of our project. The position offers a salary of £17,732 per annum (actual), for 22 hours per week, which will include flexible working hours, including regular evening and weekend commitments. This is a fixed-term position until 31st August 2026, and we hope to have someone in place as soon as possible.
Your main duties include planning and delivering the Npower-funded project and monitoring its progress. You will also recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who will help carry out the project. Our community relies on the enthusiasm of volunteers, making your role essential.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Delivery
Your primary responsibility as the Project Officer will be to plan and execute the Npower-funded project. You will establish clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables to ensure the project meets its goals. Organization and proactivity are vital to keep all aspects of the project on track and address any challenges quickly.
Volunteer Recruitment and Supervision
Volunteers are the backbone of many community initiatives. You will be in charge of recruiting, training, and supervising these individuals, which is a wonderful chance to engage with people from diverse backgrounds. You'll help volunteers develop new skills while they contribute to a meaningful cause.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
As the designated safeguarding lead, you will ensure all project activities prioritize the safety and welfare of participants. This includes implementing safeguarding policies and procedures, dealing with disclosures appropriately and providing training for volunteers about the importance of safe practices.
Funding Proposals
To ensure our projects can continue, you will be responsible for seeking and writing bids for additional funding. This requires strong writing skills and the ability to clearly present the project's impact and needs.
Collaboration with the Project Manager
You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to achieve the best outcomes for service users. This teamwork involves regular communication, ensuring all project activities align with our objectives. Working as part of a team is essential.
