Exciting Highlights of Our 2024 Activities: Healthy Camps, Classes, and Community Impact

As we reflect on 2024, we feel a deep sense of pride in the amazing activities and initiatives that unfolded. From our healthy holiday camps to enriching classes, each program was designed to create a welcoming environment, promote health, and enhance the lives of participants. Healthy Holidays Camps

This year, we successfully offered 960 places in our healthy holidays camps, welcoming a vibrant mix of attendees. With an impressive attendance rate of 75%, these camps provided a supportive space for children, focusing on well-being, friendship, and enjoyment.

A significant aspect of our camps was our commitment to inclusivity. 75% of attendees required additional support due to Special Educational Needs (SEN) or disabilities. This highlights our dedication to ensuring every child has access to fun, engaging activities tailored to their individual needs, allowing them to fully enjoy their holidays.

In collaboration with organizations like Fareshare, Feeding Britain, Leeds Community Foundation, and the Department of Education, we proudly provided 720 nutritious meals during the camps. For example, each child received balanced meals that included fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins, which are crucial for their overall health and well-being during their holiday experiences.

Diverse Classes and Activities

In addition to our camps, we offered a variety of classes and sessions that aimed to engage and educate participants in fun ways.

Our Karate classes featured a total of 18 sessions, promoting physical fitness and discipline among young martial artists. The program helped participants enhance their skills and build self-confidence, with each child reporting an increased sense of achievement.

Drama sessions also gained popularity, with 38 sessions conducted throughout the year. These sessions allowed children and adults to explore their creativity while honing their teamwork and communication skills. For many, this was a chance to step out of their comfort zones and develop poise in front of an audience.

For our youngest participants, we hosted 58 Little Monsterz Stay and Play sessions. These sessions provided a platform for socialization, imaginative play, and early learning, all within a relaxed atmosphere. Parents and caregivers found these events valuable, as they connected with others while their children enjoyed a safe and stimulating environment.

Community Engagement

We understand that community plays a vital role in our mission. This year, we organized some fantastic events that truly brought people together.

Our team hosted 2 pop-up markets, enabling local vendors to showcase their products and offering attendees unique shopping experiences. These markets not only supported small businesses but also strengthened community bonds, with over 300 local residents visiting and discovering new products.

One of the highlights was our spirited Halloween Disco, which saw participation from 180 children. Families joined the exciting celebrations, dancing and enjoying spooky treats, creating unforgettable memories together.

We also produced 2 Christmas pantomimes that attracted a total of 200 attendees. These festive performances spread joy, laughter, and embodied the warmth of the holiday spirit.

In the heart of the holiday season, our Christmas Eve Pantry opened its doors, welcoming 139 individuals seeking support. This initiative provided essential food items and linked those in need with important resources during a busy time of year, helping to ensure that everyone experienced the joy of the season.
